Issue 008: Decide!

There’s a moment in every man’s life where he realizes something uncomfortable:

No one is coming.

No one is going to fix your schedule.

No one is going to get you in shape.

No one is going to build the business.

No one is going to deepen your marriage.

No one is going to protect your mind from distraction.

You either become deliberate.

Or you drift.

Most men drift.

Not because they lack intelligence.

Not because they lack talent.

But because they never truly decide.

What It Really Means to Decide

The word decide is stronger than we think.

It shares a root with words like homicide and suicide.

The Latin root -cide means “to kill.”

To decide means to kill off other options.

When you decide to get in shape, you kill the version of you that negotiates every workout.

When you decide to protect your marriage, you kill off emotional distance and passive resentment.

When you decide to build something meaningful, you kill off endless “maybe someday.”

Most people don’t struggle with ability.

They struggle with unfinished decisions.

They leave too many escape routes open.

A real decision removes the exits.

This isn’t about intensity.

It’s about identity.

You’re not trying to “get in shape.”

You ARE a man who trains.

You’re not trying to “do better at work.”

You ARE a man who prepares and executes.

You’re not “working on a side project.”

You ARE building something that outlives you.

This Week

Don’t overhaul your life.

Win Monday.

Lift.

Eat clean.

Do your hardest work first.

Come home calm.

Put your phone down.

Look your spouse in the eyes.

Read to your kids.

Go to bed on time.

Repeat.

You don’t need more motivation.

You need a decision.

And a decision, by definition, kills off every other option.

Stop drifting.

Be deliberate.

Time will not wait.

Neither should you.

If this resonated, forward it to one man who needs to hear it.

We’re building something here.

And it starts with a decision.

More soon,
T.A.M.
